Dream

“Out of the mountain of despair, a stone of hope.”

Martin Luther King Jr. continues to be a beacon of hope that illuminates generations of Americans. Artist Kito Kondowe chose to visualize the quote chiseled on his Washington DC Memorial, “Out of a mountain a despair, a stone of hope” from the infamous “I have a dream” speech.

"The idea was loosely inspired by my experience recently atop a mountain in North Carolina. As someone who hasn’t seen many mountains, my phone couldn’t even do justice in depicting the scale of something so grand, watching the clouds dance over the valleys."
