Rise Up

"If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else." – Booker T. Washington

The need to connect with others has never felt stronger, not only on a creative level, but on a personal level as well. Life as a creative can feel a little lonely and certainly isolating. Created by artist Drew Borders, Rise Up represents that desperately needed energy of coming together right now.

Her meaning behind it feels absolutely perfect: both timely and timeless. This design celebrates the practice of uplifting one another and moving through hardships together, one step at a time.

Drew Borders

Drew is a freelance 2D animatior, Motion Designer and Illustrator based in Atlanta, GA. She recently graduated with the class of 2020 from Savannah College of Art & Design. Representation is a core part of Drew’s work. Like many others, cartoons growing up were a nice escape into carefree, whimsical worlds. Still, she’d wished she’d seen more characters resembling her in leading roles. She continues to push herself to make work that makes others not only feel captivated, but seen as well.
